The Coalition of Powhatan Churches has a wonderful group of volunteers behind the scenes working everyday. There is great need for transportation drivers to take our citizens to and from doctor appointments. The Rubye Leonard Food Pantry needs volunteers to pick up the food supply, stock it, and distribute it. Thanksgiving and Christmas are busy times for the volunteers. The gathering of food and packing it for the Thanksgiving and Christmas meals is a very special time in the life of a volunteer. At Christmas time there is the Christmas Star Tree Project where volunteers are greatly needed to gather gifts on the shopping list and help wrap them. The Coalition has one major event to raise funds each year. The annual Powhatan Spring Antique Power Show is usually in April and volunteers are desperately needed.
